Vijay Angadi:
is Managing
Director of Novastar Funds. He has twenty years of experience in investing
in India. The
Novastar Funds invest in small and mid cap publicly listed companies that
have the potential to emerge as leaders over a three year period. He is a
pioneer of the venture capital industry in India and was part of the
founding team of the first venture fund in India, ICICI Ventures.
He worked for 8 years with ICICI Ventures and served as the Group
Head of investments and member of the Investment Committee and oversaw the
investment and substantial divestment of the first two funds. Vijay served on the Boards of a numerous private and public
companies including Praj, Vimta Labs and Bangalore Genie.
Vijay
is a Director of venture firm, ICF Ventures and has built a portfolio of
highly differentiated seed stage companies. He serves on the Boards of a number
of private companies.
Vijay
has served on the Board of the Indian Venture Capital Association and
lectures widely on small cap investment,
leadership, company building and ethics in business.
He serves
on the Governing Board of Strategic Management Forum of India. He is also
involved in numerous community projects
including providing scholarships to underprivileged meritorious students.
Vijay is an engineer from National Institute of Technology (Surathkal,
India) and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.
Robin Farkas:
Robin is a prominent private investor. He is an MBA from Harvard
Business School and is Chairman, ICF Ventures. He previously served as
Chairman and CEO of Alexanders Inc. a NYSE listed company. He and his
family manage real estate and private equity funds. He has served on the
Boards of a number of private and public companies and private charities
and has served as chairman of the multibillion dollar New York State
Dormitory Authority.
ICF is a US venture fund and has been investing in India since late
1999. It has invested in number of high quality companies at the startup/early stages
including in Sasken Communications, Matexnet, Oyzterbay and Gangagen. The company has large ownership positions in most of its
investments.
Charu
Sarathy:
Charu holds a post graduate degree in engineering and is
Director of Street Edge Investments, US. The StreetEdge funds manage a wide range of asset classes including
venture capital: both direct and through other venture funds, public
equities and real estate. StreetEdge has investments in bluechip private
equity funds including Summit Partners and Warburg Pincus. Prior to
StreetEdge, Charu cofounded Mecon Inc, which was subsequently acquired by
General Electric.

Vasu Devan: is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India and has a
post-graduate degree from Wayne State University. Vasu founded Mecon Inc.,
a US based health care information systems company in 1985. He
subsequently took the company public, ran it as a NASDAQ listed company
until 2000 when it was acquired by General Electric. Vasu co-founded
StreetEdge Investments, a diversified and closely held investment
management firm with a portfolio of investments including private and
public company investments and real estate. Vasu serves on the Board of
several late-stage private companies. Prior to founding Mecon, Vasu was a
consultant with Booz Allen, an internationally known management consulting
firm.
George A. Kellner: George Kellner is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kellner DiLeo & Co., LLC. Mr. Kellner has been in the arbitrage business for 25 years and founded KDC Merger Arbitrage Fund, LP in 1981. Prior to Kellner, DiLeo & Co., Mr. Kellner was a Senior Vice President and founded the arbitrage department of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Before commencing his arbitrage career, Mr. Kellner was a Vice President and House Counsel of the Madison Fund where he had broad responsibilities as a financial analyst and portfolio manager. Mr. Kellner began his professional career as a securities lawyer at the Wall Street law firm of Carter, Ledyard and Milburn and holds a B.A. (Trinity College), a J.D. (Columbia Law School) and an M.B.A. (New York University's Leonard Stern Graduate School of Business). He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a former Adjunct Assistant Professor of Finance at the New York University.
